Materials
Built in three layers
Each badge is built up in layers, each one chosen to protect the one beneath it.
PETG body
The badge itself is made from PETG, a tough, impact-resistant plastic that won't shatter. It resists fuel, oil and car-care products and absorbs very little water. It holds its shape up to about 155°F (68°C) and starts to soften around 175°F (80°C).
UV-resistant epoxy dome
A clear, UV-resistant epoxy is poured over the face. It seals the PETG and gives the badge its glossy, three-dimensional dome.
2K high-gloss clear coat
A final coat of 2K high-gloss, UV-resistant finishing spray adds a hard protective shell, the same type of clear coat used on automotive paint.
